WILLIAMS ESPORTS And RAZER Announce Partnership
It is not a secret that the popularity of modern motorsport is in decline. High profile racing series such as the Formula 1 circus have been struggling to raise interest from the younger generation. The last few months, we have witnessed various F1 teams becoming involved in sim racing and or eSports as a tool to reach out to new and younger audiences. This has resulted in more interest from the corporate world and has put competition sim racing on the fast track.
Williams F1 is a British Formula One racing team and constructor founded in 1977 by team owner Sir Frank Williams and automotive engineer Sir Patrick Head. Since then, Williams has been one of the world’s leading Formula 1 team’s racing in the top echelon of motor racing.
Back in May of 2018, the Williams F1 team announced the launch of their own esports team. All Williams eSports activities will be in the hands of Javier Guerra who is the founder of the Spanish sim racing team JIM Racing. Currently, Williams Esports has a roster of 20 racers who compete in 10 games across three different platforms.
Now, well-known Singapore based global gaming hardware manufacturing Razer has entered a strategic partnership with Williams F1 Esports to collaborate in multiple areas of racing e-sports. This marks Razer as one of the more active brands in the quickly developing market of esports motorsport competitions.
The Singaporean gaming company will provide the Williams eSports team with Razer gaming laptops, and a complete range of Razer pro-grade gaming peripherals. In addition, Williams and Razer will collaborate in promotional social media campaigns, giveaways, community events, and branding activities.

Williams Esports has announced a strategic partnership with Razer, a leading global lifestyle brand for gamers. The long-term partnership will see Team Razer and Williams Esports collaborate in multiple areas of racing esports.
The partnership will see Williams Esports and Team Razer working together on future initiatives and activities, including the development of innovative technology solutions such as Hypersense, to give drivers greater immersion and situational awareness both in training and competition. As part of the agreement, Williams Esports and Razer will run several joint social media campaigns to engage the fans of both companies, including giveaways and co-promotional and branding activities. Razer will supply the Williams Esports roster of drivers with the complete range of Razer pro-grade gaming peripherals, including Razer’s latest high-end Blade gaming laptops.
